My name is Kirsten Wampler and this is my digital teaching portfolio. I am embarking on my teaching career and excited to see where this journey will take me. Currently I am teaching 4th and 5th grade Special Day Class at Del Rey Elementary in King City, California.I hope to enable students to reach their full potential, while developing their self-confidence to believe that they can do anything no matter the obstacles they encounter. I believe that every individual brings a unique and valuable perspective to the classroom and that when we acknowledge our differences, and adjust our approaches to align with the individual, all learners can be successful. It is my goal to help students utilize their strengths to overcome their weaknesses to reach their full potential.
In this portfolio I hope that you are able to discover any information you may want to know about my teaching philosophies and my experiences thus far. I hope to be able to bring my strengths as a teacher to light, as well as let my passion and enthusiasm for teaching shine through.

I received my B.S. in Exercise Physiology at Chico State and had initial aspirations of being an Occupational Therapist. However the more I worked at school sites and saw the amazing work special education teachers do, and the impacts they make on the lives of both students and families, the more enamored I became with the teaching aspects of the field. I have always had a love for working with children and am pleased to say I have finally found my passion in teaching.
